how we got here
Our story
Until 2022 the site was managed and funded by Shropshire Council as part of the Museums Service.
In consultation with the Acton Scott Estate which owns the site the Council surrendered the lease in April 2023.
Following a formal consultation with the public and the establishment of a Facebook group it became apparent that not only was the site important historically, it was also very much loved and supported by the many thousands of visitors that had experienced the farm over the years.
As a result the Acton family and a small group of interested and committed individuals agreed to set up a charity to ensure the site could open again.
In late 2023 a Trustee Board registered Acton Scott Heritage Farm as a charitable organisation.
